Speick
The family-owned company, Speick Natural Cosmetics, celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2013. Speick is now in its third generation and is managed by Wikhart Teuffel, the grandson of founder Walter Rau.
The goal of Speick has always remained the same: to develop natural cosmetics and natural products with an eye to health, vitality, and natural beauty.
The products are based on the medical plant Speick that is known for its soothing and nurturing properties. History tells us that the oil from the roots of the Speick plant has been used for skincare by the ancient Egyptians dating back to 500 years BC. Speick Natural Cosmetics is the only producer in the world to manufacture products containing the unique extract from the Speick plant.
You will find everything you need for a comfortable shave - shaving soap, shaving cream, shaving foam, aftershave - as well as nourishing and moisturizing products for your body and face.

More about Speick
In 1958, the founder, Walter Rau, observed that the environment affects our skin, and he started developing natural cosmetics and products.
The Speick plant was already used for medicinal purposes in the 10th century. Doctor Galen cured Emperor Marc Aurel, who had stomach problems, with Speick. Speick was worth its weight in gold and became heavily taxed later on. Speick was exported to Turkey, Syria, Morocco, and Sudan until the early 20th century. In 1936, Speick was threatened with extinction and placed under protection. As a consequence, Speick immediately lost its financial significance and sank into oblivion.
In the products, Speick extract is combined with other ingredients, and they also contain algae and silica combined with a fruity scent of essential oils.
Speick uses raw materials from biologically regulated cultivation, works with natural fragrances, essential oils, and only with natural preservatives. Speick also produces its own plant extracts and has never tested on animals.
Since its inception, the small family business has developed, produced, and distributed near Stuttgart. Some of the steps in the manufacturing process are still done by hand, as Speick does not want to leave the simple production process to machines.
Environmental and social criteria play a key role in the selection of Speick's raw materials and packaging. The company aims mainly to work with partners from the region to avoid long transportation distances and to strengthen the local economic system.
